My Voice
Dear friends
It is going to be the end of the year, and Kritya has completed twenty years. Many times,
I felt like giving a break to this journey, but my passion for reading poetry from around
the world gives me strength to keep going. Sometimes I get helping hand; sometimes I have
to walk alone. Sometimes my mind gets tired, sometimes my body requires rest. But my
passion is so strong that even when I went for surgery, I prepared four issues of Kritya.
Poetry serves as therapy not only for me, but for countless other persons like me. While
preparing Kritya issue, I received a letter from David Proskauer, in which he wrote that he
lives in a health centre in America. He suffers from bipolar disorder, and his roommate is an
epileptic. Reading David Proskauer letter, I felt that poetry is providing support to this
person even in difficult circumstances. What greater power could poetry have than this?
With these thoughts in mind, I'm continuing Kritya for its twenty-first year.
Your best wishes are essential.
