My  Voice

As long as human beings lived close to nature, their expressions were closer to nature. Natural Purity of expression didn’t lend itself to artificiality. It certainly followed natural rhythm. This can still be seen in tribal songs today. Their lyricisms, due to its rhythmic nature, make us dance. Possibly this is the reason why tribal songs are so enduring. As times changed, and humanity’s desire for land increased, poetry also took to ornamentation and began to distance itself from the common people. This period lasted for a long time, because rule is cherished by all. During rule, only a few people occupy high positions. The same thing happened with poetry and art. They were adorned, but the distance from the common people increased.

Then wars began to question humanity. As centres of governance began to collapse, words got scattered and spread among the common people. But now, it was difficult to restore the former melodiousness. That is why the voices we hear in contemporary times lacks ornamentation, they are in our own natural language, and lyricism has begun to become as flat as prose.

Does this mean we are returning to nature? No, Nature still eludes us, or rather, we have distanced ourselves from the nature.

Is this the reason we are also moving away from poetry?

We are writing so much, but are we able to mark our time? Perhaps that is the question.

With best wishes
